The 2017 Ground Vehicle Survivability & Force Protection short course will be held 22-24 August 2017 at TARDEC University (Warren, MI). 

The 3-day short course in ground vehicle survivability is designed to provide an overview of the Ground Vehicle Survivability & Force Protection discipline.  The course is intended for Department of Defense personnel and Government Contractors who work in ground vehicle survivability fields such as survivability modeling and simulation, integration, ballistic and vulnerability testing, susceptibility reduction and vulnerability reduction, and systems engineering.  The course will also benefit personnel working program management and acquisition of DoD ground vehicles. 

The course is classified Secret and is based upon numerous published documents and research in the field of GVS&FP and will highlight the important concepts necessary to understand the breadth of the survivability discipline. 

Students will be awarded continuing education unit (CEU) credit for successful completion of the short course.

Base Access Check-In Information
  1. On August 22 all attendees will need to check in and obtain a badge at the Visitor Control Center.  The Visitor Control Center, building 232, is located to the right when entering TACOM.  All personnel who do not have a Detroit Arsenal Badge MUST enter through the 11 Mile Gate and proceed immediately to the Visitor Control Center to receive their access badge (This also includes CAC Card holders).  Do not enter the Arsenal via the Mound Road Gate. You will be turned around and instructed to enter via 11 Mile Road.
  2. Visitor Control Center hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  All attendees should check in at 7:00 a.m. before the first session.
