SOFWERX SOCOM Submersible Personal Watercraft Capability Collaboration Event

Event Date:
November 29, 2017
SOFWERX, 1925 E 2nd Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605

On 29 November, SOFWERX, in collaboration with USSOCOM Naval Special Warfare component, will host a Capability Collaboration Event (CCE) to discuss new, novel, and provocative submersible personal watercraft (PWC) capabilities. This event is seeking to explore the current state of the art in submersible personal watercraft (PWC) by reviewing the cutting edge in the PWC market place with current subject matter experts (SME) in industry, academia, and government laboratories. This event will occur in two phases.

Phase I: CCE to gather interested parties to hear Warfighter desirements regarding submersible PWC, followed by Q&A.

Phase II: Request for cost schedule and performance metrics (based on Phase I) will be evaluated for potential partnership prototyping opportunities.

Topic Objective

Discuss the approach/design of the following:

1. Waterproof PWC platform with an automated buoyancy control (submerge/resurface) system

2. Recovery method for the submersible PWC with a subsurface vessel

Desired Outcome

Identify potential research and development partners to pursue and develop a functional prototype.
