FHI 360 Conference Center, Washington, DC

After a successful symposium in 2018, ASNE will again hold Technology, Systems, & Ships (TSS) 2019 at FHI 360 in Washington, DC. The program will follow the design, build, and sustain pattern of 2018. TSS will present an agenda that addresses both current and future Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps programs with heavy emphasis on naval engineering. ASNE also looks to expand our Young Professional Outreach Program during this event. Beyond the shipbuilding programs, other topics such as ship modernization, weapon systems, combat systems, and C5ISR will be discussed. Given the intimate nature of the venue, TSS affords both government and industry professionals an excellent opportunity to meet with and discuss current events as well as future programs.

This year, TSS will focus on shipbuilding in addition to the naval engineering disciplines. Papers dealing with all facets of shipbuilding technologies are encouraged.  Technical papers for TSS were solicited on the broad range of technical challenges applicable to technology, systems, and ships. Technologies in the following areas of interest as they support the TSS themes of Designing, Building, and Sustaining the Future Navy will be explored. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Additive Manufacturing
  • Combat Systems
  • Cybersecurity
  • Directed Energy
  • Energy Storage Technologies
  • Flexible Ships
  • Future Programs
  • Novel Developments in Ship Structures and Materials
  • Shipbuilding Technology
  • Unmanned and Autonomous Systems
