U.S. Air Force researchers are asking industry for new enabling technologies in fast attack planning on valuable and enemy moving targets that offer only a fleeting time window to carry out successful missions.
Officials of the Air Force Research Laboratory”s Information Directorate in Rome, N.Y., issued a broad agency announcement (FA875019S7009) last week for the Information Analysis for Multi-Domain Operations and Targeting Support project.
This project seeks to develop affordable technologies that provide accurate and timely planning and execution against dynamic, time-sensitive, or pre-planned targets.
Today”s dynamic targeting happens in a timeline on targets outside of the Air Tasking Order (ATO) so compressed that fast-paced activity allows for little time to analyze the target or assign the best weapon for the job, Air Force researchers explain. The Information Analysis for Multi-Domain Operations and Targeting Support project seeks to change that.

CONCISE SUMMARY OF TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENT: The Air Force Research Laboratory – Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) is soliciting white papers under this BAA in the area of multi-domain dynamic target solutions for targeting recommendations through optimization algorithms, sensitivity analysis, and analysis of alternatives. The BAA objective is to conceive, develop and demonstrate innovative and affordable technologies that provide accurate and timely planning and execution against full-spectrum dynamic, time-sensitive or pre-planned targets.
BAA ESTIMATED FUNDING: Total funding for this BAA is approximately $49.9M. Individual awards will not normally exceed 36 months with dollar amounts normally ranging from $100K to $500K. There is also the potential to make awards up to any dollar value as long as the value does not exceed the available BAA ceiling amount of $49.9M.
ANTICIPATED INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: Multiple Awards are anticipated.
