Amanda M. Schrand, Ph.d.

Dr. Amanda M. Schrand currently serves as principal investigator for additive manufacturing of resilient hybrid electronics at the Fuzes Branch of the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate, Eglin Air Force Base, FL. Prior to moving to Florida, her research career was established at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio and spanned multidisciplinary fields, including molecular biology, nanotoxicology, nanomaterials characterization, and materials science & engineering. She has two patents submitted related to additive manufacturing of survivable materials.  Dr. Schrand has authored over 60 literary prod-ucts, including a strategic studies quarterly article that is a required reading for the USAF Air War College Rapid Global Mobility module for senior leaders.  She holds a B.S. in biological sciences and an M.S. in molecular biol-ogy from Wright State University and a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from the University of Dayton.
