C. Michael Roland

Soft Matter Physics in the Chemistry Division of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory

C. MICHAEL ROLAND is Senior Scientist for Soft Matter Physics in the Chemistry Division of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. His research interests include the viscoelastic, mechanical, and thermodynamic properties of materials. Previously, he worked at the Firestone Central Research Laboratories and was technical editor of Rubber Chemistry & Technology. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Charles Goodyear Medalist of the American Chemical Society. Dr. Roland has a B.S. in chemistry from Grove City College and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Pennsylvania State University.
