Eric MacDonald is a professor of electrical and computer engineering and the Friedman Chair for Manufacturing at Youngstown State University. He worked in industry for 12 years at IBM and Motorola and subsequently cofounded a startup company where he developed computer-aided design software. From 2003 to 2016, he was the Associate Director of the W. M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation at the University of Texas, El Paso. He held faculty fellowships at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (San Diego) and a State Department Fulbright Fellowship in South America. He has over 50 refereed publications and patents. Dr. MacDonald holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
