Russell Austin is a senior engineer at Texas Research Institute/Austin, focusing on nondestructive inspection technology development and condition-based maintenance. His background includes low-frequency ultrasonics/acoustic emission to detect and locate damage in large structures, microwave/millimeter-wave inspection of thick and/or lossy polymer materials, and development of miniature embedded structural health monitors. He started his career operating the infrared thermography laboratory at Argonne National Laboratory. He has a B.S. in materials engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology.
Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering’s Energetics Research Group
WILLIAM BAGLEY is an associate research engineer supporting energetics research and humanitarian demining programs at the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering’s Energetics Research Group. He also serves as the principal technical representative to the Joint Army Navy NASA Air Force (JANNAF) Interagency Propulsion Committee’s Safety and Environmental Protection Subcommittee, the Propellant and Explosives Development and Characterization Subcommittee, and the Propulsion Systems Hazards Subcommittee and co-chairs the JANNAF Homemade Explosives Mission Area. He is a member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators, the National Defense Industrial Association, and a Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. Mr. Bagley is a graduate of the University of Maine and the Navy School of Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
