Dr. Richard Smardzewski is a principal scientist at SciTech.  He has acquired over 43 years of experience and expertise in nuclear, biological, and chemical defense, as well as NLW technologies.  Since 2014, he has provided technical support to the non_lethal antimateriel technologies program under the current and previous Target Defeat Technology Support contracts performed by SciTech.  He was the Deputy Director of Research at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Chemical Biological Center, MD, Chief of the Analytical Division and the Detection Technology Division at CCDC Chemical Biological Center , and Head of the Surface Chemistry and Analysis Group at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.  He authored over 100 refereed publications and published one textbook.  Dr. Smardzewski holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Iowa State University and a B.S. in chemistry from King’s College.
