Theme:  “Joint ASE Alignment: Advanced Capability & Innovative Concepts”
Sponsored by:  Advanced Tactical Aircraft Protection Systems (PMA272)

PMA272 will host the 22nd Advanced Technology Electronic Defense Systems Conference, on 15-16 December 2015 in San Diego CA. The conference will be held at the Pavilion of the Hilton La Jolla Hotel. The opening session will start at 0800 on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 and will conclude no later than 4 pm on Wednesday December 16.

PMA272 is NAVAIRSYSCOM's program office responsible for Electronic Warfare (EW) Aircraft Self-Protection Equipment (ASE) for Navy and Marine Corps tactical aircraft.  The ATEDS conference provides PMA272 an annual opportunity to conduct a forum between the warfighter, program management and field activities, military research laboratories, the intelligence community, test & evaluation activities, other military services and industry.

The conference objective is to gather the Joint and Department of the Navy (DoN) Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) community and explore the Department of Defense (DoD) use of the electromagnetic environment in order to improve aircraft survivability. The conference focus supports Joint forces in emerging mission environments, and looks to align with the recently established OSD Electronic Warfare Executive Committee and the Navy's developing Electro-magnetic Maneuver Warfare (EMW) Strategy.  The Joint ASE conference theme adheres to DoD and service guidance by seeking enhanced mission effectiveness and cost efficiency through the development of common programs and capabilities.

The agenda will include a series of briefings on operational, acquisition and technical matters up to the SECRET level.

There is no conference fee associated with ATEDS.

A Reminder For USG ATEDS Attendees:

Per the DON AA Approval Letter of 16 September 2015, a very limited number of rental cars (eight total) are authorized to support conference transportation. These vehicles are to be allocated to event presenters. Such limited authorization was a perquisite for event approval and could not be avoided. Individuals not allocated a rental car from PMA 272 will responsible for their rental car expenses. Other means of conference transportation is authorized including taxi, uber and shuttle service. In addition, co-location of the conference with the La Jolla Hilton minimizes daily transportation needs. (Plus it will save in hotel parking fees).  Numerous eateries are also within a short distance of the hotel.

ATEDS Local Area Transportation Update:

Rental car authorization for DoD attendees is highly limited per the DoN AA ATEDS approval letter, para (5).

"(5.) Eight rental cars are authorized to support conference transportation.  Rental car allocation is the responsibility of Program Executive Officer, Tactical Aircraft.  Other attendees should exercise the lowest cost option for travel in attending this event."

Available transportation options include taxi as well as Uber service.  More specific information will be posted on the ATEDS portal of the DSIAC website as it comes available.

The co-location of the ATEDS event and accommodations mitigates transportation requirements and costs.  Therefore it is highly recommended for prospective ATEDS attendees to make your reservations at the La Jolla Hilton quickly - as there are a set number of rooms set aside at the government per diem rate.

The La Jolla Hilton has high quality eating facilities on site.In addition, there are numerous eateries (specific information is available on the ATEDS portal) within a short distance of the La Jolla Hilton.
