What Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) instruments and techniques are available for detecting surface species on structures before adhesive bonding?

DSAIC staff performed a technology survey of potentially useful, commercially available instruments/systems for laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), as well literature searches in the DTIC R&E Gateway and open sources for different useful research techniques. A list of potential LIBS systems of spectrographs and hand-held interfaces was compiled and delivered to the inquirer along with bibliographies of literature search results.
