What sense and avoid (SAA) systems are available and being researched for use in small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS's)?

DSIAC was asked to identify and locate candidate SAA systems for small UAS's to enable a cargo UAS to deconflict with other air vehicles during delivery missions. SAA systems could integrate into an existing UAS or be a modular platform agnostic system. Also requested was information about organizations performing research and development or making any progress on the challenges surrounding the inquiry. DSIAC staff performed open-source and DTIC searches to obtain the requested information. DSIAC compiled a list of candidate technologies and associated production companies, as well as a summary of relevant organizations and references for further research into a response report that was delivered to the inquirer.
