The U.S. Army recognizes that as the enemy continues to evolve asymmetrical strategies to inflict casualties, it must continue to look at new solutions (i.e., in addition to armor) to improve survivability of lightweight combat ground and air vehicles. DSIAC supported the U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s Weapons and Materials Research Directorate’s (WMRD’s) efforts to conduct studies/analyses of designs, construct functional prototypes, and test concepts to provide advanced future vehicle survivability.
